Stash Enhancement

During the LYS Tour, I found a pattern that I really liked for a sleeveless top knit in Louet's Euroflax Worsted. I didn't have the money to buy the yarn at that time, and it was quite pricey, so I waited. In the weeks that followed, I began to realize that the yarn may not be very easy to find. Then, during a break on the day of the skirt class, I found some on sale at Village Yarn! Realizing I may never find a better price, I purchased enough for the top and plan to knit it soon. It is a summer shell, so I will either want it finished in time for July/August or I may need to wait until next year to make it up. I have a stealth project that I am trying to finish quickly, now, so I can't start, yet.

Skirt Knitting Class

My friend K & I finally took our skirt design and knitting class at Village Yarn, on June 13th. The class was nice and I really like the design worksheet that Carol Lansinger (the designer) had created and handed out. It was just the 2 of us in the class and so it finished earlier than expected. During the class, I was the only one who had a completed swatch with me, so we used it to design a skirt to fit me. I will probably knit it up for fall as I love the pattern and have measured another skirt that I love to realize that the guesses I made for some of the measurements were very close. Also during the class, we knit up these swatches. It was fun and let us see what the border on one of Carol's patterns really looks like. All in all, it was a good class and I am glad that I took it.

A New FO

This is the Josephine Top from Interweave Knits Summer 2007, knit in Elann's Lara. This one came out perfectly, fits great and will probably be a summer favorite. I wore it yesterday and had many compliments! :)

Let the slaying commence!

Using Elanns' Esprit, I knit this pair of Air Raid socks for my assassinee. They have already gone on to their new home, so I figured it was about time to show them off!

Malabrigo Shawl for May

Eat.Sleep.Knit's May Malabrigo kit contained 3 skeins of Silky Merino in raspberry. The resulting shawl is lovely and was a fun, quick knit. Over half of this one was knit during Friday's driving on the LYS Tour. Showing this off to all my knitting and non-knitting friends is a joy!

Spring Pullover

This is Elsebeth Lavold's Rose knit in Queensland Hyacinth. The fabric is lovely and soft. I wore this one once before it was blocked and it wasn't so great, but it looks so much better now that it is finished blocking. It think that this will be a beloved favorite for many springs to come.
